Burrinjuck - local attractions

Use Burrinjuck Waters as a home base for visits to the historic towns of Binalong,  Yass and other places of interest. Binalong features Australia's only purpose-built motor museum and restoration workshop.

Yass boasts a Railway Museum and the Hamilton Hume Museum, showing aspects of Australia's exploration history. There's also Cooma Cottage, once Hume's home, and the fascinating Yass Archives.

There are eight wineries around nearby Murrumbateman and the district is renowned for its excellent glassware. Visit one of the most renowned glass artisans, Peter Crisp, at his gallery on the Hume Highway.

The spectacular Carey's Caves at Wee Jasper features seven chambers of colourful limestone, with guided tours Friday to Monday.
