Q.    What is the weather going to be like next weekend?

A.    Try the Bureau of Meterology site at http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw/forecasts.shtml where you will find weather forecasts for all areas of NSW.  If you check the weather radar at http://mirror.bom.gov.au/weather/radar/#map1 and click on the site nearest any park and you will be able to see if it is raining at present.

Q.    What is the present water level in the dams?

A.    The current storage for all NSW inland dams can be viewed at http://www.waterinfo.nsw.gov.au/sr/StorageSummary.html.

Q.    Is there any Blue Green Algae in the dams?

A.    For the latest blue-green algae information contact the toll free information line on 1800 999457.

Q.    What fish are stocked in the dams?

A. Coffs Coast, Belmont and Killalea offer fantastic beach, rock and offshore fishing.

Fishing on Copeton Lake offers cod, catfish, perch, redfin, and yellow belly. Trout can be caught in the Gwydir River downstream of the dam.

Grabine Lakeside is an excellent inland fishing spot, with catches of silver and golden perch (yellow belly), catfish, trout, Murray cod and of course, European carp.
Rod and reel enthusiasts will enjoy the fishing at Burrendong, with redfin the top catch, while catfish and cod can also be caught. Yabbies can also be caught with nothing more than a piece of string and bit of bait.

Lake Glenbawn is also one of the best freshwater fishing spots in NSW. Cast a line and you can catch the famous ‘big bass’, golden perch (yellow belly), Murray cod, trout and catfish.

Lake Keepit State Park is famous for its fishing. Hook silver and golden perch (yellow belly), estuary perch, bass, catfish and eels.

Lake Wyangala is well-regarded as an excellent inland fishing spot. Catch silver and golden perch (yellow belly), catfish, bass, Murray cod and the renowned brown and rainbow trout.

Q.    Can I take my dog?

A.    Pets are allowed at Copeton Waters, Grabine Lakeside, Lake Burrendong, Lake Glenbawn and Wyangala Waters only if they are kept on a lead at all times. No pets are allowed inside any accommodation.

Q.    Will I be able to light a fire?

A.    Fires are allowed in designated campfire or BBQ areas only, at all times. In the event of a total fire ban, consult the individual parks.
