Lake Keepit State Park offers fun and relaxation for the whole family with BBQs, picnics and bushwalking along the Namoi, or water sports on the 34km of stunning waterways. The park is great for bushwalks, with many pleasant and easy trails. Go gliding, lessons are available, or bring a BMX bike and try out the track. Roller bladers, roller skaters and skateboarders can have fun in the skate bowl. Lake Keepit State Park is famous for its fishing. Hook silver and golden perch (yellow belly), Murray cod and catfish. Address: Lake Keepit is a half-day’s drive from Sydney or Newcastle or half an hour from Tamworth. The Entrance to Lake Keepit State Park is just off the Oxley Highway (about 7kms). It is situated 38kms east of Gunnedah and 54kms west of Tamworth or 30kms south of Manilla by all weather bitumen road. Nearest regional centre is Tamworth.

Activities at Lake Keepit State Park NSW
Tamworth, 50 minutes drive to the east, being the country music capital of Australia , has the Country Music Hall of Fame, and hosts the Tamworth Country Music Festival each January. Gunnedah, 30 minutes drive to the west, hosts the AgQuip Rural Field Days every August. Manilla, 20 minutes drive to the north has a meadery and is a pleasant day trip. Other activities include: 4W Driving, bird watching, canoeing, fishing, gliding, golf, mountain biking, sailing, skateboarding, swimming, tennis, water skiing.
