Tamworth, 50 minutes drive to the east, being the country music capital of Australia , has the Country Music Hall of Fame, and hosts the Tamworth Country Music Festival each January.
Gunnedah, 30 minutes drive to the west, hosts the AgQuip Rural Field Days every August. Manilla, 20 minutes drive to the north has a meadery and is a pleasant day trip.
